World Sleep Day 2016 will be here on March 18, 2016!
World Sleep Day (WSD) is an annual event that calls to action important issues related to sleep using collaborative efforts energized by sleep professionals all over the world.  The focus of WSD is to bring cognizance to the many burdens of sleep problems.

In 2016 we are celebrating the theme of “Good Sleep is a Reachable Dream.”  The theme is purposefully broad in meaning surrounding the message that sleep maladies can be ameliorated, but recognition has to come first, emphasizing the importance of overall health and well-being.  Most sleep disorders are preventable or treatable, yet less than one-third of sufferers seek professional help.  This year’s slogan encompasses both adult and pediatric themes, as well as topics of insomnia and hypersomnia, parasomnias, and circadian dysrhythmias.

Each year approximately 100 delegates from over 50 countries participate in World Sleep Day by performing a sleep related event in their community.
You too may join World Sleep Society in raising awareness of sleep related issues.  To become a World Sleep Day delegate or to view activities that other delegates have performed please go to
